Primergy Solar has commissioned the 408 MWac Ash Creek Solar project in Hill County, Texas. The project is supplying power to the ERCOT grid in partnership with Microsoft through a long-term power purchase agreement. SOLV Energy was the engineering, procurement, and construction partner for the project.
The project was originally developed by Orion Power Generation, a joint venture of Orion Renewable Energy Group and Eolian. The project was acquired by Primergy in 2021. In 2024, Primergy Solar announced $588 million in project financing for the construction and an additional commitment of $350 million in tax equity financing for the Ash Creek Solar project.
Earlier in December 2024, Primergy Solar’s Prairie Mist solar project reached commercial operation. The 100 MWac solar project is located in Ashley County, Arkansas. The project connects to Entergy’s transmission system in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s (MISO) operating footprint.
