WV International Ventures, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based WV International, has announced intentions to build a 900 MW wind farm in Serbia’s Novi Sad region. The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina’s provincial government stated that the Samos wind park will be built in the northern Serbian towns of Alibunar and Kovacica, with work expected to be completed in two stages. The value of WV International’s investment was not disclosed.

Approximately 420 MW of the total capacity is expected to be installed during the project’s first phase, with a further 468 MW to be developed during the second stage. The highest hub height for each turbine will be 250 metres. The entire size of the proposed facility will be 175 square kilometres (67.6 sq mi).

In June 2022, Nordex Group secured a 105 MW turbine supply order for the Krivaca wind farm in Serbia. The Krivaca wind project is located in the municipalities of Golubac, Kucevo, and Veliko Gradiste in eastern Serbia. It is expected to have a capacity to generate 310 GWh of clean energy per year, which is approximately 1 per cent of the country’s total power consumption.
