Qualitas Energy, a Spanish renewables investor, has purchased a 96 MW wind energy project pipeline in Germany. Four wind projects are included in the portfolio: two in the Heidekreis district of North Rhine-Westphalia, one in the Uelzen region of Lower Saxony, and one in the Cologne region. The portfolio has the capacity to generate enough electricity to power 64,000 households. The company intends to exceed a 6 GW wind energy portfolio and is accelerating project development with high in-house standards.
It was recently decided that Qualitas Energy would sell NeXtWind a portfolio of 112.5 MW of wind energy. The two companies’ early collaboration resulted in a successful transformation of the portfolio. NeXtWind intends to complete the portfolio, which is made up of a variety of assets, and maybe repower it to reach 300 MW of capacity. Qualitas Energy’s Q-Energy Fund V successfully closed in November 2023. The fund closed at nearly €2.4 billion, exceeding its initial goal of €1.6 billion.
In April 2023, Qualitas closed the acquisition of DunoAir’s German onshore wind development business, increasing its platform capacity to 2.9 GW in the country. The company has focused on the planning and construction of wind power plants, and at the time of the acquisition, it had 1.4 GW of wind assets in development.
