Petrobras and Lightsource bp have entered into a strategic partnership to collaborate in the onshore renewable energy segment in Brazil. Under the agreement, Petrobras will acquire a 49.99 per cent stake in Lightsource bp’s Brazilian subsidiaries, with the transaction subject to regulatory approvals. The partnership will be structured as a joint venture (JV) with shared management responsibilities between Petrobras and Lightsource bp.

AMEA Power commissions 120 MWp solar project in Tunisia

AMEA Power has commissioned a 120 MWp solar project in the Kairouan Governorate of Tunisia. The project was financed with support from the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group, along with the African Development Bank. It is expected to produce about 222 GWh of electricity annually. Moreover, the project is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by around 117,000 tonnes annually.

Ren-Gas secures financing for e-methane production in Finland

Nordic Ren-Gas Oy has raised approximately €16 million in a growth financing round. The funding round also saw participation from Taaleri Investments Ltd and Tesi. Additionally, it saw participation from the company’s existing shareholders, Allianz, and Suomen Tavara ja Raha Oy. The raised capital is intended to support renewable e-methane production for the heavy transport and shipping sector in Finland.

ENCAVIS secures financing to acquire 265 MW Italian solar portfolio

ENCAVIS has secured a €200 million non-bridge financing facility to fund the acquisition of the Italian solar portfolio known as Giotto, with a total capacity of 265 MW. The financing will be used to acquire the portfolio from EDP Renewables Italia. Additionally, the financing for the acquisition has been provided by UniCredit on a non-recourse basis. The portfolio comprises five solar parks located in Italy, with three projects situated in Lazio and two in Puglia.

SEG Solar to develop 3 GW manufacturing facility in Indonesia

SEG Solar has announced plans to develop a 3 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Batang Regency, Indonesia. The project forms phase I of a broader 5 GW expansion plan for ingot and wafer production. The proposed manufacturing facility is expected to involve an investment of about $80 million, fully funded by SEG. Moreover, production at the plant is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026.

OX2 begins construction 277 MW wind projects in Finland

OX2 has commenced construction of three onshore wind projects in Finland following a final investment decision, covering a cumulative capacity of 277 MW. The Kannisto wind farm is located in Central Ostrobothnia, and the Korkeamaa wind farm and Salo-Ylikoski wind farm are located in Southern Ostrobothnia. Collectively, the three wind farms are expected to generate approximately 860 GWh of electricity annually.

ACCIONA Energía sells a wind and solar portfolio in US and Mexico 

ACCIONA Energía has entered into an agreement with Mexico Infrastructure Partners for the sale of a 49 per cent stake in its 1.3 GW solar portfolio in US, along with the complete divestment of two wind projects in Mexico with a combined capacity of 321 MW. The transaction has an equity value of approximately €855 million. As part of the agreement, the company will continue to hold a 51 per cent controlling interest in the US solar assets.

Shizen Energy signs solar PPA with Google in Malaysia

Shizen Energy has reached financial close for a 29.99 MWac utility-scale solar project in Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia under the Corporate Green Power programme. The project company, SM 01 Sdn. Bhd., has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google The project is scheduled to commence commercial operations in 2027. The project will provide Google with energy attributes generated from the solar plant.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has announced an investment in the Kahirós green hydrogen project in Uruguay. The financing will support the Kahirós project, to be developed in partnership with Grupo Santander. US DOE’s Speed to Power: To accelerate large-scale grid projects to support AI

The US DOE, through its Grid Deployment Office, launched the Speed to Power initiative to speed up the development of large-scale power transmission and generation projects, to enable the grid to meet the growing energy demands from AI and manufacturing. India’s wind sector regains momentum, but challenges persist

As per the National Institute of Wind Energy estimates, India has immense wind energy potential – about 695.5 GW at 120 metres above the ground level. As of October 31, 2025, India’s installed wind power capacity stands at 53.59 GW. The wind sector is entering a phase of meaningful but measured progress. ECF and partners join forces for green hydrogen project in Canada

Elemental Clean Fuels (ECF) is working with Sc.wén̓wen Economic Development and Kruger Kamloops Pulp L.P. on the Kamloops Clean Energy Centre (KCEC), a proposed green hydrogen facility with a planned capacity of 10 MW. The KCEC project is planned at the Kruger Kamloops pulp mill in Kamloops, British Columbia, and is expected to supply all of its green hydrogen output directly to the kiln operations.

Iberdrola begins construction on 366 MW solar projects in Spain

Iberdrola España has started construction of two solar projects in Valencia, Spain, involving an investment of about $252 million. The projects comprise the Ayora 1 and Cofrentes I solar farms, having a combined installed capacity of 366 MW. These projects are expected to strengthen regional energy independence and are scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2026.
