Neoen bags 380 MW contract for BESS in Canada

Neoen has disclosed that its fully-owned subsidiary, Shift Solar Inc, secured a 380 MW / 4-hour capacity contract through a competitive tender organised by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), Ontario’s electric grid operator. Grey Owl Storage will supply the IESO during 20 years from commissioning with additional capacity that will contribute to meet the province’s growing demands.

BrightNight and Cordelio Power secure $414 million financing for Box Canyon solar project

BrightNight and its joint venture partner Cordelio Power have finalised a $414 million construction credit facility for their utility-scale solar power project, Box Canyon, located in Pinal County, Arizona. The project is owned by BOCA bn, LLC, a joint venture between BrightNight and Cordelio, and is set to generate 300 MW of power with operations expected to commence in 2025.

Boralex secures 125 MW BESS in Ontario

Boralex has revealed the selection of the Oxford Battery Energy Storage project. The project is a 125 MW, four-hour duration battery storage project situated in the Township of South-West Oxford, Ontario. This project was chosen by Ontario’s Independent Electricity Systems Operator (IESO) further to its Long-Term Request for Proposals (LT1 RFP).

KKR, HASI launch $2 billion Sustainable Infrastructure Investment Venture

Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital (HASI) and KKR have agreed to establish CarbonCount Holdings 1 LLC (CCH1), a new venture aimed at investing up to $2 billion in “climate positive” sustainable infrastructure projects over the next 18 months across US. According to the deal signed on May 4, 2024, both HASI and KKR have committed up to $1 billion each to CCH1 for investment in clean energy assets.

CIP secures grants for 1 GW green hydrogen projects

Two hydrogen projects owned by CI Energy Transition Fund I, managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners have secured grants from the European Commission in its first European Hydrogen Bank auction. Catalina was awarded €230 million while Madoqua was awarded €245 million. Together, they represent a combined electrolyser capacity of 1,000 MW.

Leeward secures 400 MW of PPAs from Microsoft

Leeward Renewable Energy, a US renewable energy developer and operator, has inked power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Microsoft Corp for two 200 MW solar projects in Texas. The tech giant obtained power from the Cradle Solar project in Brazoria County and the Morrow Lake Solar project in Frio County under the PPAs.

Vestas bags order to build 319 MW wind farm in Mexico

Sempra Infrastructure has placed a 319 MW order for the Cimarron wind farm near Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. The Energia Sierra Juarez Wind Complex, which will have a 582 MW installed capacity overall, is currently in its third phase. The deal covers the delivery and deployment of 46 V163-4.5 MW turbines and 18 V162-6.2 MW turbines.
