SEFE, Eletrobras, and EnerTech partner to supply green hydrogen to Germany

Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE), Eletrobras, and EnerTech have inked a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) to supply 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to Germany, starting in 2030. The partnership will establish a green hydrogen production facility in Brazil, integrated with the power grid and utilising electricity sourced from hydropower and other renewable energy options.

HydrogenPro and J.H.K have announced an exclusive partnership to drive green hydrogen projects across several European countries namely, Germany, Austria, and the Benelux region. As part of this partnership, HydrogenPro will be a supplier of its advanced high-pressure alkaline electrolyser technology, while J.H.K. will serve as the plant integrator and EPC contractor.

Elcogen secures €24.9 million EU grant for green hydrogen production

Elcogen has been selected for the European Union’s 2024 Innovation Fund grant in Tallinn, Estonia. The grant, totaling €24.9 million, will support Elcogen’s expansion of its production capacity for solid oxide electrolyser cell (SOEC) and solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) components in Estonia. This grant will aid in the transition to green energy and the efficient production of green hydrogen.

Vårgrønn secures stake in Baltic 2 wind farm in Germany

Vårgrønn has inked an agreement to acquire a 27.4 per cent stake in the currently operational Baltic 2 offshore wind farm (288 MW) from PGGM Infrastructure Fund. Upon completion of the deal, the Baltic 2 offshore wind farm will be jointly owned by EnBW with a 50.1 per cent stake, Vårgrønn holding 27.4 per cent, and Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe holding a 22.5 per cent share. EnBW will manage the operations and maintenance of the project.

ORLEN acquires 300 MW renewable energy projects in Poland

ORLEN Wind 3, a subsidiary of the ORLEN Group, has successfully closed an acquisition with EDP Renewables Polska for two solar PV farms in the Zielona Góra and Poznań regions and a wind farm in the Łódź Province. This acquisition boosts the Group’s renewable energy generation capacity by over 300 MW. The newly acquired assets are expected to generate up to 400 GWh annually, enough to power nearly 182,000 households.

Lhyfe and KEYOU ink MoU for hydrogen mobility in Germany

Lhyfe has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KEYOU to advance hydrogen mobility in Germany and Europe. Lhyfe is constructing a production plant in Schwäbisch Gmünd, near Stuttgart, Germany, which is expected to be operational by year-end. The facility will produce up to 4 tonnes of green hydrogen daily (with a 10 MW installed capacity). Lhyfe has secured a 15-year corporate PPA with EDP Renewables to ensure a steady supply of renewable electricity.

EIB and Intesa Sanpaolo to invest €8 billion in wind energy

European Investment Bank (EIB) and Intesa Sanpaolo have launched a new initiative aimed at unlocking up to €8 billion in investments for the European wind sector. This initiative is part of the EIB’s larger €5 billion wind energy investment plan, which was announced at COP28. Supported by InvestEU, this agreement is the first under the EIB’s wind package and follows a similar collaboration with Deutsche Bank AG.

OMV Petrom concludes two renewable energy agreements

OMV Petrom has acquired a 50 per cent stake in Electrocentrale Borzești from RNV Infrastructure. This entity holds renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of around 1,000 MW, consisting of 950 MW in wind power and 50 MW in solar power. The wind farms will be developed, constructed, and operated in partnership with RNV Infrastructure, while the solar project is currently undergoing production tests.
