Metlen Energy and Metals (METLEN) has reached financial close on a refinancing of all its operating and under-construction assets in Australia. Furthermore, the financial close was reached with lenders, namely Deutsche Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB Division), and Westpac Banking Corporation. Once operational, the solar portfolio will produce renewable energy of almost 1 TWh annually.

California Energy Commission approves solar plus storage project in Fresno County 

The California Energy Commission (CEC) has approved the Darden Clean Energy Project under the state’s Opt-In Certification program. The project will be built in western Fresno County, California. It consists of a 1,150 MW solar facility and up to 1,150 MW (4,600 MWh) of battery storage. The Opt-In Certification program provides a consolidated state permitting option for eligible clean energy projects.

Dimension Energy secures $360 million for community solar portfolio in US

Dimension Energy has secured a $360 million construction and term financing for a new 112 MWdc portfolio. The portfolio consists of 28 community solar projects in the states of New Jersey, Illinois, Delaware, Virginia, Maine, and Pennsylvania in US. First Citizens Bank acted as lead debt syndicator, along with ING, MUFG, National Bank of Canada, Siemens, Cadence, and Comerica. Additionally, Advantage Capital provided $170 million in tax equity.

Blue Elephant Energy has secured €200 million in financing from Infranity. The funds will be used for the development and construction of 1 GW of renewable energy capacity across Europe. The €200 million financing has been provided in the form of a Holdco construction facility, with an option to increase it further by €200 million. Infranity is acting as the sole lender and has directly structured the funding provided to Blue Elephant Energy.

European Energy has inked PPA with Amazon Australia to supply renewable electricity from solar parks in Australia. The agreement covers the Mokoan Solar Park and Winton North Solar Park in Victoria, as well as the Bullyard Solar Park in Queensland. US installs 10.8 GWdc of Solar Capacity in Q1 2025: Report

The US solar industry installed 10.8 GWdc of capacity in the first quarter of 2025. Despite both a quarterly and annual decline in capacity, Q1 2025 was the industry’s fourth-best quarter. The utility-scale segment followed a similar trend, with 9 GWdc of capacity, which is lower than both Q1 2024 and Q4 2024. However, Q1 2025 still ranks among the segment’s top quarters ever. Sixty-five percent of the quarterly utility-scale installations were concentrated in five states: Texas, Florida, Ohio, Indiana and California.

Scale Microgrids has closed $275 million in new project financing, bringing the total financing raised by the company to over $1 billion. The financing will support 140 MW of distributed generation projects, including the company’s community-scale solar and storage and battery storage installations. DESRI commences construction of the Catclaw solar and storage facility in Arizona

DESRI has achieved financial notice to proceed, and it has commenced construction of the Catclaw solar and storage project situated in Buckeye, Arizona. The Catclaw project is a 205 MWac solar facility with a 1,000 MWh storage system. DESRI purchased the project from Avantus in 2024. BNP Paribas and Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale served as coordinating lead arrangers.

Zelestra begins commercial operation of 300 MWdc solar project in Peru

Zelestra has commenced commercial operations at the San Martín solar plant in Perú. The solar plant has a capacity of 300 MWdc and is led by Zelestra’s internal engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) division. The solar plant comprises 450,000 modules and will generate over 830 GWh of clean energy annually. The solar project supplies clean energy to its customer, Kallpa Generación, through a long-term power purchase agreement.

Sonnedix inks 420 GWh PPA with Renfe in Spain

Sonnedix has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Renfe for the purchase of 420 GWh of renewable energy per year to power its commercial operations. The solar installations used in this financial PPA will generate annual energy, which will be enough to power 112,000 homes.
