Plug Power and AGA ink agreement for 3 GW electrolyser system

Plug Power has inked a purchase agreement with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) under which, Plug will supply 3 GW of electrolyser capacity for AGA’s green hydrogen to ammonia plant. This plant is currently under development in Australia. Furthermore, AGA will install a 4.5 GW solar plant in order to power these electrolysers using zero-emission clean electricity. The plant aims to produce approximately 2,700 metric tonnes of green ammonia daily.

Avina Clean Hydrogen completes FEED of 800,000 MTPA ammonia plant in Texas

Avina Clean Hydrogen (Avina) has completed the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Front-End-Loading (FEL-3) of its 2,200 metric tons per day (MTPD) clean ammonia facility located on the Texas Gulf Coast. Final investment decision (FID) for the facility is targeted for 2025. The facility is expected to produce up to 600,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of blue ammonia. Avina has also inked a long-term water supply agreement with the local water district to secure sufficient resources for producing up to 800,000 MTPA of clean ammonia.

Port of Açu and Yamna ink land agreement for green ammonia plant in Brazil

Port of Açu Operações (Port of Açu) and Yamna Co Ltd (Yamna) have inked a land reservation agreement for the development of a green ammonia project. This agreement is inked for a new hub for low-carbon hydrogen and its derivatives in the port industrial complex of Port of Açu in the northeast of Rio de Janeiro State. As part of this agreement, the Port of Açu is reserving two million square meters for green hydrogen projects.

CHN Energy connects offshore solar-hydrogen project to the grid

CHN Energy’s Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd. which operates the Rudong Integrated Photovoltaic (PV)-hydrogen-storage project has connected it to the grid. This project is located on the coastal tidal flats of the Yudong Reclamation Area in Rudong County. The project combines PV power generation, hydrogen production and refueling, and energy storage.

TRIG inks PPA with France-based green hydrogen producer

The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) for renewable power supply to Hyd’Occ, which is a green hydrogen facility located in Port-la Nouvelle. As part of this agreement, TRIG will supply wind power to Hyd’Occ from its onshore wind farms located in the Occitanie region. Furthermore, the green hydrogen production unit is currently under construction and is expected to be commissioned in 2025.

ELUPRO, Muscat House and MA Corporation ink green ammonia supply agreement 

ELUPRO has inked a tripartite agreement with energy companies of Oman and Thailand named Muscat House and MA Corporation respectively to partner for the production, supply, and sale of green ammonia. Earlier, Muscat House and ELUFO Oman (a subsidiary of ELUFO) inked a contract for the production and supply of green ammonia. At a similar time, ELUPRO inked a green ammonia sales contract with MA Corporation.

Low Carbon Contracts Company inks hydrogen contracts in Britain 

Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) has inked three hydrogen production contracts under Hydrogen Allocation Round 1 (HAR1). This is part of the British government’s Hydrogen Production Business Model. There are eleven contracts in total and the remaining contacts are expected to be signed early next year. This initial agreement covers the Cromarty, Whitelee, and West Wales projects with a combined operational capacity of 31.8 MW.

Google and CIP ink 250 MW PPA in Netherlands

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google through its Energy Transition Fund I in the Netherlands. As part of this agreement, Google will purchase 250 MW of wind energy from the Zeevonk project to support its operations in the Dutch region for a period of 15 years. The Zeevonk project is a joint venture between Vattenfall and CIP, integrating offshore wind, solar energy, and green hydrogen production on a large scale.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has acquired a majority stake in the Toqlukuti’k Wind & Hydrogen project through its Energy Transition Fund (CI ETF I). This is a large-scale onshore wind and hydrogen project located in Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada. The stake was acquired from Germany-based renewable energy developer ABO Energy, which will remain involved as a minority shareholder and co-developer of the project.

Vireon secures €3.8 million grant for a 5 MW electrolyser facility in Finland

Vireon Hydrogen has secured a €3.8 million grant from Business Finland to develop a 5 MW electrolyser facility in Jyväskylä, Finland. Vireon has already started the process of developing the Jyväskylä Hydrogen Hub. Phase one of the project is focused on constructing a hydrogen refueling station for heavy-duty transport which is partly funded by a prior EU grant to the company. This station is set to be operational by 2025.

Hydrogen Energy Development in Texas: Report

In 2023, the Texas Legislature created the Texas Hydrogen Production Policy Council (Council) to study and make recommendations relating to the policy framework of the Railroad Commission of Texas for hydrogen energy development in Texas. The Council was established in December 2023 pursuant to House Bill 2847 (88th Legislature, Regular Session), and its initial report details the Council’s analysis and preliminary recommendations. Gentari to supply 650 MW clean energy to AMG Ammonia

Gentari, through its subsidiary Gentari Renewables India Castor One, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with AM Green Ammonia India (AMG Ammonia) to supply 650 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy.
