EDF Power Solutions North America has signed a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Southern California Public Power Authority for the Utah Solar 1 Energy project in California. The project will deliver power to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power from a 300 MWac solar facility in Millard County, Utah. Commercial operations for the project are expected to commence in mid-2027.

Grenergy inks hybrid PPA with Georgia Power in US

Grenergy has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Georgia Power in US for the supply of renewable energy and associated renewable attributes under the Clean and Renewable Energy Subscription (CARES) 2023 programme. The agreement covers the entire output from the Beaver Creek hybrid project, which is estimated to generate approximately 400 GWh of energy annually.

Avangrid and PSE ink PPA for 199.5 MW wind project in US

Avangrid has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for the Big Horn I wind project located in Klickitat County, Washington. The project will have a nameplate capacity of 199.5 MW, enough to supply electricity to around 70,000 homes annually. The project, developed by Avangrid in 2006, is expected to commence commercial operations in 2028 following its redevelopment.

YEC inks solar PPA with Rio Tinto for Pilbara project

Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) has achieved financial close and signed a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Rio Tinto for the Jinbi Solar Project. The project is located in Pilbara, Australia. Under the agreement, YEC will supply 100 per cent of the electricity generated from the project to support decarbonisation of Rio Tinto’s Pilbara iron ore operations.

EDP and Meta sign PPA for 250 MW solar project in Arkansas

EDP, through EDP Renewables North America, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Meta for the 250 MW Cypress Knee Solar project in Arkansas. The project is scheduled for completion by 2028. The agreement marks Meta’s third clean energy partnership with EDPR NA, taking the companies’ total contracted renewable energy portfolio to 545 MW in US.

RWE to supply 70 GWh clean energy to Breedon in Great Britain

RWE has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Breedon Group in Great Britain. Under the agreement, RWE will provide around 70 GWh of renewable power annually to Breedon’s operations. The power will initially be supplied from the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm located in the Irish Sea. From 2033 onwards, the power will be supplied from the Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm located in Wales.

TotalEnergies gets funding for Kazakhstan wind and BESS project

TotalEnergies has secured financing for the Mirny onshore wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Kazakhstan. The project includes a 1 GW onshore wind farm, with 150 turbines and a 600 MWh battery system which will be supplied by Saft, an affiliate of TotalEnergies. The power generated will be sold to the Government of Kazakhstan under a 25-year PPA which was signed in 2023.

Etem Gestamp and Rezolv Energy ink cross-border VPPA in Bulgaria

Etem Gestamp and Rezolv Energy have entered into a 10-year cross border virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) in Bulgaria. Under this arrangement, Etem Gestamp will procure electricity from Rezolv Energy’s 461 MW VIFOR wind farm, located in Buzău County, Romania, which is nearing commissioning. The agreement represents Rezolv Energy’s seventh PPA across Romania and Bulgaria.

Linea Energy has secured project financing for its Watertown solar project, a 172 MWdc utility-scale facility located in Sanilac County, Michigan. The financing package comprises a construction-to-term loan, a tax equity bridge loan and a letter of credit facility. It is led by Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, with participation from Société Générale, Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale and Truist Bank.

Egypt signs renewable energy agreements package  

Egypt has formalised a series of renewable agreements covering wind, solar, and battery energy storage system projects. These include plans to establish standalone battery energy storage systems with a total capacity of 5,620 MW. One of the agreements grants land usufruct rights for the 900 MW Shokeir wind project in Ras Shokeir. Furthermore, multiple other PPAs have been signed for several renewable projects across the country.

Origis Energy has commenced commercial operations of the Wheatland Solar project in Knox County, Indiana. The project has a capacity of 210 MWdc, or 150 MWac, and is supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement with CenterPoint Energy. The project will supply electricity to support power reliability and resilience in CenterPoint Energy’s service area in Indiana.

Manitoba Hydro issues RFP for 600 MW wind projects in Canada

Manitoba Hydro has issued a request for proposals (RFP) under the Wind Call for Power initiative. The programme seeks to procure power from 600 MW of wind projects in Manitoba, Canada. Each wind project selected under the initiative must be majority owned by one or more Indigenous Nations in Manitoba. The bidding process has commenced and is scheduled to close during summer 2026.

US Clean Power Q4 2025 Update: Report

Total 2025 clean power capacity additions totaled 50,344 MW, accounting for over 90% of new capacity and bringing total operational clean power to 363,301 MW. The battery storage industry saw its best year yet for deployments after adding 16,175 MW/46,520 MWh of new capacity in 2025, surpassing the previous annual deployment record set in 2024 by 41%. The clean power pipeline rose to 187,514 MW in Q4, up just 1% from Q3, and up 8% year-over-year.

274 MW Madawaska wind project in Canada begins construction

The 274 MW Madawaska wind project in Quebec has reached financial close, enabling the start of construction. The project is being developed by EDF power solutions Canada, Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est, and Société de gestion éolienne de la Madawaska Inc. Financing has been arranged through a consortium comprising Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, National Bank of Canada, Desjardins Group, and KfW IPEX-Bank.

Lydian Energy has secured $689 million in financing for two solar projects, AC Ranch 1 and Yellow Viking, along with the Faraday battery energy storage system (BESS) project. The financing package is backed by CIBC and MUFG. It includes a construction-to-term loan, tax credit bridge loan, co-investment bridge loan, and a letter of credit facility.  The projects are part of Lydian’s portfolio backed by Excelsior Energy Capital.

Grenergy secures financing for Central Oasis in Chile

Grenergy has finalised a $355 million senior non-recourse financing facility for the Gran Teno, Tamango, and Planchón projects, which form part of its Central Oasis complex in Chile. The funding has been arranged through an international banking syndicate led by BNP Paribas as the coordinating bank, along with Banco Santander and Rabobank. The assets together account for 398 MW of solar and 1.4 GWh of battery storage capacity.

TotalEnergies and Google ink 1 GW solar PPAs in Texas

TotalEnergies has entered into two long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) to supply 1,000 MW of solar capacity to Google for its data centres in Texas over a 15-year period. The agreements cover renewable electricity generation of approximately 28 TWh during the contract term. Power will be sourced from two solar projects, namely the 805 MWp Wichita project and the 195 MWp Mustang Creek project.

India announces results of 1.2 GW wind auction 

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the winners of its 1,200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected wind power projects (Tranche-XIX) auction. In the auction, KP Energy secured a capacity of 100 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.67 per kWh. Furthermore, Waaree Forever Energies, Ganeko Three Energy, and Opera Energy secured 300 MW, 180 MW, and 50 MW, respectively, at a tariff of Rs 3.68 per kWh.

RWE and Amazon ink 110 MW PPA for Nordseecluster B project

RWE and Amazon have entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 110 MW of offshore wind capacity from the Nordseecluster B project in Germany. The PPA builds on a strategic framework agreement signed in June 2025, under which RWE supports Amazon’s carbon-free energy objectives, while Amazon Web Services provides cloud services, artificial intelligence, and data analytics for RWE’s digital transformation.
