Cadeler inks contract for 390 MW offshore wind project in Poland

Cadeler has finalised a contract with Ocean Winds for transporting and installing 26 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines of 14 MW capacity each at the BC-Wind offshore wind farm in the Polish Baltic Sea. The wind farm is situated about 23 km from the Polish coastline, north of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The agreement follows an earlier vessel reservation arrangement made between the two companies in February 2025.

Siemens Gamesa to supply turbines for offshore wind project in Taiwan

Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) Group has selected Siemens Gamesa to provide 35 turbines of 14 MW each for the 495 MW Formosa 4 offshore wind project located off the west coast of Taiwan. The turbines will be supplied from the company’s nacelle production facility in Taichung. Situated off Miaoli County, the Formosa 4 project was allocated capacity in the first auction round of Phase 3 Zonal Development in 2022.

UK offshore wind project gets EIFO funding guarantee

The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) has provided a £500 million project finance guarantee for the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm in UK. The project, developed by ScottishPower Renewables, is valued at £4.5 billion. Located off the Suffolk coast, East Anglia Three is an expansion of the East Anglia wind cluster and is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2026.

Siemens Gamesa debuts a wind turbine tower made of sustainable steel

RWE, a German utility, plans to use GreenerTower from Spanish wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa for its 1 GW Thor offshore wind farm off the coast of Denmark. The new wind turbine tower is said to be made of sustainable steel. Steel plates make up over 80 per cent of the towers. The fabrication of the plates uses 63 per cent less carbon than the production of conventional steel. A maximum of 0.7 tonnes of carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions per tonne is permitted while maintaining the steel’s quality and properties.

ScottishPower awards $1.6 million wind turbine contract to Siemens Gamesa

ScottishPower, a division of Iberdrola, has given Siemens Gamesa a $1.6 billion deal for the supply of wind turbines for its 1.4 GW East Anglia Three (EA3) offshore wind farm. According to the agreement, Siemens Gamesa will provide 95 wind turbines with a 14.7 MW power each for the wind farm that will be built in the Southern North Sea of the UK. EA3, which belongs to the East Anglia zone, is owned by ScottishPower. The project started onshore building in July 2022.

RWE selects Siemens Gamesa for its Thor offshore wind project in Denmark 

Siemens Gamesa has been chosen by German energy giant RWE as the preferred wind turbine provider for its Thor offshore wind project in Denmark. For the 1 GW offshore project, Siemens Gamesa will deliver and maintain 72 of its SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines. A contract for the project was signed by representatives from Siemens Gamesa and RWE at the Danish National Test Centre for Large Wind Turbines in Østerild.

Siemens Energy issues mandatory convertible bond for Euro 960 million

Siemens Energy AG has issued subordinated mandatory convertible notes of Euro 960 million. The pre-emptive rights of shareholders of the company to subscribe for the notes were not included. The notes will be convertible into newly issued or existing registered no-par value company shares. The net proceeds from this issue will be used to partially finance Siemens Gamesa’s voluntary cash offer for all outstanding shares.

Siemens Gamesa acquires wind turbine supply order in Philippines

Following the country’s initial round of renewable energy auctions, German energy company Siemens Gamesa has acquired a turbine contract in the Philippines from renewable developer ACEN. For the 70 MW Capa wind farm, Siemens Gamesa will supply 14 of its SG 5.0-145 turbines. The wind farm is being constructed in Caparispisan, Ilocos Norte, and is anticipated to start operating in the first quarter of 2024.

Siemens Gamesa receives offshore wind turbine order in Japan

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has received an offshore wind power order from Green Power Investment for the Ishikari offshore wind power project in Japan. The 112 MW wind power project is located in Hokkaido, Japan, about 5 km from the shore of Ishikari Bay. As part of the agreement, SGRE will deliver 14 of its SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbines, each with a 167m rotor and an 8 MW capacity.

RWE shortlists Siemens Gamesa turbines for wind farm in Poland

RWE, a German energy company, has signed an agreement with Siemens Gamesa to deliver offshore wind turbines for its FEW Baltic II offshore wind project in Poland. Siemens Gamesa will deliver 25 SG 14-236 DD wind turbines for the 350 MW project. A service agreement is also included with the order. Construction on the site is expected to start as early as 2024, depending on the final investment decision.

Siemens Gamesa, a Spanish energy company, and Doosan Group subsidiary Doosan Enerbility have agreed to explore potential offshore wind power cooperation in South Korea. In Copenhagen, Denmark, the two companies signed a non-binding MoU to assess the scope of collaboration on large-scale offshore wind turbines, including installation, maintenance, and supply of turbine parts. Siemens Gamesa to supply turbines for Moray West wind farm in Scotland 

Siemens Gamesa, a Spanish energy company, has been awarded a contract to supply 60 wind turbine units for the 882 MW Moray West offshore wind power project in Scotland. According to the agreement, the company will deliver its SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines, each having a capacity of 14.7MW. Each SG 14-222 DD turbine will have a 222 metre rotor diameter and use Siemens Gamesa’s 108 metre-long IntegralBlades.

Siemens Gamesa to supply wind turbines for Vena Energy

Siemens Gamesa, a Spanish wind turbine manufacturer, has received an order from Vena Energy, a Singapore-based company, to deliver wind turbines for a 133 MW wind project in Karnataka, India. As per the agreement, Siemens Gamesa will supply 37 of its 3.X platform turbines, known as SG 3.6-145, for the project. The turbines would be manufactured at Siemens Gamesa’s facilities in India, and installation work at the site is slated to begin in 2023.
