Google and CIP ink PPA for offshore wind project in Taiwan

Google has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) in Taiwan. Under this agreement, Google will purchase renewable energy from the Fengmiao I offshore wind project. The project is situated in Taiwan and is developed by CIP. The project is expected to be operational in 2027. Furthermore, once operational, it will provide reliable power to support Google’s data center, cloud region, and offices in Taiwan.

JA Solar delivers modules for PV project in Inner Mongolia

JA Solar has commenced delivery of 1 GW DeepBlue 4.0 Pro high efficiency PV modules for Suji Sandland PV project in Urad Front Banner, Inner Mongolia. Furthermore, after being completed by the end of 2025, the Suji Sandland project is expected to generate 2.96 billion kWh of electricity annually. The PV modules have been designed to endure high ultraviolet radiation, frequent sandstorms, and large temperature fluctuations.

Masdar and PT PLN ink agreement for floating solar project in Indonesia

Masdar has inked two agreements with PT PLN, Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company for the development of floating solar power projects in Indonesia. The two companies have inked a MoU to develop a floating solar power plant at the Jatigede Dam reservoir in West Java. Furthermore, the project is being developed after Masdar secured the lowest tariff in the Hijaunesia 2023 bidding program.

Nexif Ratch to develop nearshore wind project in the Philippines

Nexif Ratch Energy has secured Pre-Development Environmental Compliance Certificate (Pre-Dev ECC) for San Miguel Bay Wind Power Project. This is a 500 MW wind energy project situated in the Philippines. The certificate was provided by the Philippines’ Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and is in accordance with the Philippine Environmental Impact Statement System (PEISS).

Vena Energy invests $200 million in Yokji offshore wind project in South Korea

Vena Energy has decided to invest $ 200 million in the Yokji Offshore wind project situated in the South Gyeongsang province. This investment aims to accelerate South Korea’s transition to renewable energy and enhance its energy independence. The  Yokji Offshore wind project has a planned capacity of 384 MW. Furthermore, the wind project will diversify South Korea’s energy mix and aid in increasing the share of domestically generated energy in the grid.

Philippines launches GEA-4 to add 9,378 MW of renewable energy

The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines has released the terms of reference (TOR) for the fourth round of the Green Energy Auction (GEA-4). The TOR lays out the technical, financial, and commercial requirements for project selection, ensuring a fair and competitive bidding process. The GEA-4 aims to add 9,378 MW of new capacity from ground-mounted solar, roof-mounted solar, floating solar, and onshore wind projects.

Voltalia inks PPA for 526 MW hybrid project in Uzbekistan

Voltalia has inked a power sales agreement for its hybrid project in Uzbekistan. This hybrid project comprises 126 MW of solar energy, 300 MW of wind power, and 100 MW/200 MWh of battery storage. The agreement extends for 25 years for the wind and solar projects and for 15 years for the storage projects.  Furthermore, the construction phase is set to begin in the first quarter of 2026 for solar and storage projects and in the third quarter of 2026 for wind power.

Cleantech Solar commissions floating solar PV in Thailand

Cleantech Solar has commissioned 10 MWp of floating solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for Cargill in Thailand. These PV systems are a part of approximately 30 solar PV projects under various stages of operations, construction and development for Cargill. These projects are located at Cargill’s fully integrated poultry processing units in Korat and Sarabur. Furthermore, these floating solar systems are expected to generate around 285 GWh of clean energy over their lifetime.

Korean Energy Agency awards offtake contract to Taean Wind Project

Vena Energy and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP) joint wind project has been awarded an offtake contract in the Wind Power Fixed-Price Contract Auction which was arranged by the Korea Energy Agency (KEA). This project is known as the Taean Wind Project and has a planned capacity of 500 MW.  Furthermore, this is a fixed-bottom offshore wind project and is expected to begin construction in the second half of 2026.

Vena Energy and LINE Yahoo ink VPPA for solar project in Japan

Vena Energy and LINE Yahoo Corporation (LYC) have inked a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) centered on the Maniwa Solar Project. This is a 72 MW solar project and will be built on a repurposed golf course in Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture. It is expected to be operational by 2026. Furthermore, this clean energy output will be traded on the Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX) through Digital Grid Corporation.

CHN Energy’s Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd. which operates the Rudong Integrated Photovoltaic (PV)-hydrogen-storage project has connected it to the grid. This project is located on the coastal tidal flats of the Yudong Reclamation Area in Rudong County. The project combines PV power generation, hydrogen production and refueling, and energy storage.

ELUPRO, Muscat House and MA Corporation ink green ammonia supply agreement 

ELUPRO has inked a tripartite agreement with energy companies of Oman and Thailand named Muscat House and MA Corporation respectively to partner for the production, supply, and sale of green ammonia. Earlier, Muscat House and ELUFO Oman (a subsidiary of ELUFO) inked a contract for the production and supply of green ammonia. At a similar time, ELUPRO inked a green ammonia sales contract with MA Corporation.

Gentari to supply 650 MW clean energy to AMG Ammonia

Gentari, through its subsidiary Gentari Renewables India Castor One, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with AM Green Ammonia India (AMG Ammonia) to supply 650 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy. To fulfill this agreement, Gentari will establish approximately 2,400 MW of combined wind and solar energy capacity in India, integrated with 350 MW/2,100 MWh of energy storage systems.
