Arcadia and Uniper sign eSAF offtake deal

Uniper and Arcadia eFuels have signed a binding agreement for the offtake of 40,000 tonnes of eSAF annually from Arcadia’s Project Endor in Denmark. The project, located in Vordingborg, is expected to begin supplying the fuel from the early 2030s, subject to agreed conditions and commercial operations. Arcadia’s eSAF will be produced using renewable electricity, green hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide, delivering up to 98 per cent lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions compared with conventional jet fuel and is also compatible with the EU ReFuelEU Aviation framework.

ERG and Glencore sign 164 GWh wind PPA in Poland

ERG has signed a five-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Glencore Energy Europe B.V. for electricity generated from three wind farms in Poland. The agreement will commence on January 1, 2027 and will cover 164 GWh of renewable electricity annually. The agreement includes power from the Radziejów, Słupia and Szydłowo wind farms, accounting for approximately 70 per cent of their expected output.

Greenvolt Power begins construction on 2.4 GWh BESS in Poland

Greenvolt Group, through Greenvolt Power, has commenced construction of the Siedlce battery energy storage system (BESS) in Poland. The project has an installed capacity of 600 MW/2.4 GWh and is part of Greenvolt’s 4.6 GW probability-weighted BESS pipeline, including around 2.4 GW in Poland. Commercial operations for the project are targeted by the end of 2027.

Taaleri Energia, through its SolarWind III Fund and KJK Fund III, has invested in the Raudsepa battery energy storage system (BESS) located in Estonia. The project has an installed capacity of 192 MW/420 MWh. The project construction will commence in September 2026 and will reach full operation by November 2027. Furthermore, the project, developed by Evecon and Corsica Sole, will feature LG Energy Solution batteries and Power Electronics inverters.

Stonepeak has announced an equity investment in AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE). ADE, launched with AGP in 2024, develops, owns and operates onsite renewable energy infrastructure for commercial and industrial customers across the UK and Europe. AGP will retain an interest in ADE following the transaction. Furthermore, ADE has a pipeline of over 1 GW and has contracted 250 MW renewable energy projects across 200 sites till date.

Covenergo and Delta Capacity have collaborated to deliver the standalone AKKU One battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Lapinlahti, Finland. The project has an installed capacity of 125 MW/300 MWh. The project is expected to be commissioned by the fourth quarter of 2027, with project construction under way. The project was acquired as a ready-to-build asset from Helios Nordic Energy with Covenergo holding the majority stake in the project.

Hy24 and COFIDES acquire stake in Onuba green hydrogen project

Moeve has announced that Hy24 and COFIDES have acquired a combined 29 per cent stake in the Onuba green hydrogen project in Andalusia, Spain. Moeve will retain a majority 51 per cent stake in the project alongside minority partners Enagás Renovable and Alter Enersun. The project marks the first phase of the 2 GW Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley project in Europe and will feature 300 MW of electrolysis capacity, with an option to add a further 105 MW, subject to grid capacity and board approval.

Stargate Hydrogen secures EU grant for expansion

Stargate Hydrogen has signed a €20.6 million EU Innovation Fund grant agreement to expand its green hydrogen electrolyser manufacturing facility in Tallinn, Estonia. The facility will produce alkaline electrolyser electrodes, pressurised alkaline stacks and electrolyser systems with annual capacities of 250 MW, 150 MW and 66 MW, respectively. The facility is expected to avoid around 3 million tonnes of carbon emissions over its first 10 years of operation.

Econergy has acquired Escofi, a French wind energy platform for €134.3 million. The platform has a portfolio of 740 MW, including 128 MW operational, 34 MW under construction, 147 MW in advanced development and 432 MW in early and mid-stage development, with the projects concentrated in France’s Hauts-de-France and Grand Est regions. Escofi has an effective project ownership of approximately 91 per cent.

Vattenfall has taken the final investment decision (FID) to build a standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project at the former Brunsbüttel nuclear power plant site in Germany. The project will have an installed capacity of 254 MW/1,000 MWh and will be connected to the 50Hertz 380 kV transmission grid. The project, expected to be operational by the end of 2028, will nearly double Vattenfall’s BESS capacity.

Skyborn Renewables has achieved financial close for the Gennaker offshore wind farm located in Germany’s Baltic Sea. The project has an installed capacity of up to 976.5 MW. The project has secured a €2.1 billion non-recourse financing package from a consortium of 16 commercial lenders and the European Investment Bank, with the total investment exceeding €3 billion. The project is targeted for commercial operations by the end of 2028.

Valencia grants €76 million to BP for hydrogen and sustainable fuel projects

The Valencian government has granted €76 million under its FEDER programme to support two BP renewable energy initiatives in Castellón. The energy initiatives will span from 2026 to 2029. Out of this funding, €66.3 million will be allocated to Castellón Green Hydrogen phase 2 S.L. for a new renewable hydrogen demonstration facility. Furthermore, the remaining €9.7 million will be used by BP Energy Spain to advance pre-treatment technologies used in sustainable biofuels.

OMV Petrom has completed the delivery of all seven modules for its 35 MW green hydrogen electrolyser at the Petrobrazi refinery in Romania. The project, supplied by Neuman & Esser, consists of seven 5 MW electrolysis modules and is currently being integrated into the refinery infrastructure. Together with the earlier announced 20 MW electrolyser, Petrobrazi’s total green hydrogen production capacity will reach 55 MW.

Amazon has signed four power purchase agreements (PPAs) for wind projects in Sweden. The agreements are expected to add approximately 200 MW of new carbon-free energy capacity. The projects include the Fageråsen, Boarp, Dållebo and Fågelås wind projects, which are being developed by OX2 and Eolus. Furthermore, the Fageråsen project will have a capacity of 132 MW, while the Boarp, Dållebo and Fågelås projects have capacities of 17.5 MW, 18 MW and 31.5 MW, respectively.
