Quinbrook Renewables Impact Fund II raises GBP 587 million

Quinbrook has achieved the final close of its Quinbrook Renewables Impact Fund (QRIF II), raising GBP 587 million through the fund, surpassing its GBP 500 million target.The fund will invest in renewable energy, energy storage, and grid infrastructure across the UK and Ireland to support their 2030 clean energy goals. Key projects under the fund include the 373 MWdc Mallard Pass Solar Project in England, the 963 MVA.s Wexford Synchronous Consider Project in Ireland, Project Norton combining 65 MW solar with 41 MW battery storage, and Aegis Energy’s clean refuelling hub network.

Uniper and Respect Energy sign solar PPAs in Poland

Uniper and Respect Energy have signed 6-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable electricity and guarantees of origin (GoOs) from four new solar projects. The projects include the Pakość, Kłodawa, Domanowo, and Krotoszyce solar facilities, all located in Poland. These projects have a combined installed capacity of 219 MWp. Under the agreement, Respect Energy will purchase both the solar electricity and its associated renewable energy certificates (GoOs).

Qualitas Energy secures €172 million for Italian solar portfolio

Qualitas Energy has secured approximately €172 million in non-recourse financing for a greenfield solar portfolio in Italy. The portfolio has a combined installed capacity of 158 MWp and comprises 15 solar projects across Italy. The projects are supported by a diversified revenue mix, including FER X, FER X NZIA, power purchase agreements, and other support schemes. The project financing was arranged by CaixaBank, La Banque Postale, and DekaBank.

Actis acquires Klara Renewables in Poland

Actis has agreed to acquire Klara Renewables from CVC DIF. Klara Renewables is a 171 MW operational onshore wind portfolio located in Poland. The portfolio also offers around 275 MW of hybridisation potential through co-located solar PV and battery energy storage. The portfolio also has a long-term target of 1.5 GW of renewable capacity. The portfolio comprises six operational wind projects supported by contracts for difference through 2038-39, including three projects in Wielkopolska, two in Kujawy-Pomorze, and one in Podlasie, all powered by Vestas turbines.

CIP reaches FID for Cobirgy biogas plant in Spain

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Advanced Bioenergy Fund I (ABF I), has reached the final investment decision (FID) for the Cobirgy biogas plant located in Catalonia, Spain. The project will produce over 230 GWh of biomethane annually and around 150,000 tonnes of organic fertiliser and soil improver products. The plant will process up to 500,000 tonnes of agricultural and industrial organic waste annually.

RWE and PPC have commissioned the final solar farm of the Amynteo photovoltaic complex located in Western Macedonia, Greece. This commissioning brings the nine solar projects with a combined capacity of 930 MWp into full operation. The projects were developed through their joint venture Meton Energy S.A. with RWE owning 51 per cent and PPC owning 49 per cent.

Aker Solutions has secured a contract from Tussa Energi to supply all electromechanical equipment for the Tussa II hydropower plant. The contract is valued between NOK 0.5 billion and NOK 1.5 billion. The plant is located in western Norway. The project will expand the facility’s installed capacity from 64 MW to 150 MW with the addition of two 75 MW Pelton turbine units.

The project secured a 15-year contract for difference (CfD) for 245 MW of capacity in December 2024. The project is expected to commence commercial operations in 2028.

Ignitis group has secured a €150 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support the financing of the Kelmė Wind Farm. The wind farm has a combined installed capacity of 313.7 MW and is located in Lithuania. The project reached commercial operations in June 2025. With this, the total investment in the Kelmė Wind Farm, including acquisition and construction costs, is expected to reach up to €550 million.

Frontier Power Energy Holdings has acquired the rights to the Ayr and Busby long-duration energy storage (LDES) projects from Apatura Energy. The projects will provide a combined capacity of 350 MW/2.8 GWh, with the Ayr project planned at 200 MW (1,600 MWh) and the Busby project at 150 MW (1,200 MWh). Both projects are expected to deploy long-duration battery systems supplied by Eos Energy Enterprises, including its Z3 technology platform.

ENGIE and European Energy have signed an agreement to develop a large-scale renewable hydrogen project in Aabenraa Municipality, Denmark. The project will feature an electrolyser with a capacity of up to 150 MW and is planned to connect to the future Danish-German Hydrogen Backbone infrastructure. The facility will be developed close to an industrial-scale e-methanol plant, owned by Mitsui & Co. and European Energy.

Germany’s Federal Network Agency has released the results of the onshore wind and innovation auction. The onshore wind auction awarded approximately 2.5 GW across 270 winning bids from 628 submissions totaling roughly 6.4 GW, significantly oversubscribing the 2.5 GW tender. Successful bid prices ranged from 4.44 ct/kWh to 5.19 ct/kWh, with a volume-weighted average of 5.06 ct/kWh, down from 5.54 ct/kWh in the previous round.

Plenitude has completed and fully commissioned the 330 MW Renopool solar project in Extremadura, Spain, following the start of operations at the second 200 MW block of the facility. The project comprises a 130 MW northern plant and a 200 MW southern plant. Furthermore, the project features approximately 565,000 bifacial modules. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate around 670 GWh of electricity annually.

H-Power has secured a contract to supply 5,000 kg of fuel cell-grade green hydrogen to Protium in UK. The sale follows regulatory approval from the Environment Agency allowing H-Power to supply hydrogen from the facility to third-party customers until August 2026. The hydrogen, produced from bio-ammonia, meets ISO 14687 Grade D standards with 99.97 percent purity, making it suitable for PEM fuel cell applications.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has agreed to divest minority stakes in its 500 MW Devilla battery energy storage (BESS) project to the Scottish National Investment Bank and Nuclear Liabilities Fund. The project, located in Kincardine, Scotland, is a two-hour-duration lithium-ion BESS. CIP will retain a majority stake and continue to oversee the project construction.

The company has been awarded funding of up to €228 million to support the development of an additional 150 MW of hydrogen production capacity in Denmark. The project will support the decarbonisation of industrial processes and transport sectors across Europe.
