SEG announces 4 GW solar module factory in US

SEG Solar has announced plans to establish a 4 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Houston, US. The facility represents an investment of more than $200 million, expanding SEG’s total annual US solar module production capacity to approximately 6 GW. The facility is expected to commence operations in the third quarter of 2026. Furthermore, the expansion follows SEG’s plans for a 5 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Indonesia, strengthening its fully integrated solar supply chain across ingots, wafers, and cells.

Vena starts construction of 380 MWp solar projects in Philippines

Vena Energy has commenced construction for the 80.6 MWp Astra Solar and 300 MWp Opus Solar projects located in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. These projects together will expand the company’s total solar capacity in Ilocos Norte to approximately 480 MWp. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on 5th May 2026 for the Astra Solar project in Currimao and on 6th May 2026 for the Opus Solar project in Paoay.

Longroad Energy commences operations of Sun Pond Project in Arizona

Longroad Energy has commenced commercial operations at the Sun Pond project in Arizona. The project comprises 111 MWdc solar and 85 MWac/340 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project is expected to generate renewable electricity to power around 35,000 US homes annually while avoiding more than 145,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

GOLDBECK SOLAR to develop 268 MWp solar park in Germany

GOLDBECK SOLAR is developing the 268 MWp Schafhöfen Solar park in Bavaria, Germany for Blue Elephant Energy GmbH. The project company is BEE Solarpark Schafhöfen GmbH & Co. KG, while GOLDBECK SOLAR will deliver the project under a turnkey EPC contract. Construction for the project is scheduled to commence from May 21, 2026, while commercial operations are targeted for September 2027.

EDP and Meta sign PPA for 250 MW solar project in Arkansas

EDP, through EDP Renewables North America, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Meta for the 250 MW Cypress Knee Solar project in Arkansas. The project is scheduled for completion by 2028. The agreement marks Meta’s third clean energy partnership with EDPR NA, taking the companies’ total contracted renewable energy portfolio to 545 MW in US.

New York launches a new onshore renewable energy tender

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has launched the 10th annual Renewable Energy Standard solicitation, RESRFP26-1, to accelerate clean energy deployment across New York. The solicitation, issued on April 24, 2026, seeks Tier 1-eligible renewable energy certificates (RECs) from projects with a near-term path to commercial operation. The procurement process will follow a two-step structure comprising a step one eligibility application and a step two competitive bid proposal process.

Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) has signed a collaboration framework agreement (CFA) with Masdar to accelerate the development of renewable energy projects across the UAE. TotalEnergies and Nextnorth have achieved financial close and begun construction of a 440 MWp solar project located in Isabela, Philippines. TotalEnergies owns 65 per cent of the project while Nextnorth has a 35 per cent stake in the project. The project is expected to commence operations by the end of 2027. The project is estimated to generate 13.5 TWh of electricity over a period of 20 years.

IFM Investors will acquire the remaining 50 per cent stake in Nala Renewables from Trafigura Renewables. Nala Renewables, a renewable-energy platform located in London, operates a multi-technology portfolio with over 2 GW capacity across solar, wind, and storage. Graphic Packaging Holding signs VPPA for 250 MW solar project in Texas

Graphic Packaging Holding Company has signed a virtual power agreement (VPPA) with NextEra Energy Resources for the 250 MW Selenite Springs Energy solar project in West Texas. The project is expected to begin operations by the end of 2027. Graphic Packaging will be the sole buyer of renewable energy certificates, covering around 43 per cent of its US and Canada electricity use.

The funding will support offshore wind in Germany, solar projects in Italy, and renewable adoption by businesses in Austria. Toyota Tsusho commissions 100 MW solar projects in Tunisia

Toyota Tsusho Corporation, through its group company AEOLUS SAS, has completed the construction of two solar plants totaling 100 MW in Tunisia. The plants, developed in partnership with Scatec ASA, are located in Sidi Bouzid and Tozeur governorates. The 50 MW Sidi Bouzid Mezzouna plant began operations in January 2026, while the 50 MW Tozeur plant began operations in March 2026.

CleanCapital has divested the 120 MW Nottingham solar project to Energix Renewables. The project, located in Harrison County, Ohio, was originally developed by BQ Energy, which was acquired by CleanCapital in 2022. The transaction follows CleanCapital’s recent acquisition of a 7.7 MW energy storage joint venture, closing a $300 million HoldCo facility and a $185 million debt private placement to support its growth.

Neoen secures 318 MWp solar contracts in Ontario

Neoen has secured two 20-year contracts from the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) for two new solar farms of 318 MWp (250 MWac) combined capacity in Ontario. The contracts cover 100 per cent of the new plants’ output. The projects include a 253 MWp solar farm near Dunns Valley and a 65 MWp solar farm near Paradis Bay. The combined generation from these projects is expected to reach approximately 475 GWh on an annual basis, powering over 50,000 homes in Ontario.

Mulilo secures financial close on 380 MW solar project in Western Cape

Mulilo has achieved financial close on the 380 MW Beaufort West Solar PV facility in the Western Cape. The plant features a 250 MWAC export capacity and is connected to the Droërivier substation. The project is backed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Norfund, with multi-bank funding from Absa, Standard Bank, Investec, and Nedbank. The facility, once operational, will generate 818 GWh yearly which is sufficient to power 345,000 homes while offsetting 860,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Amazon Australia signs 430 MW clean energy PPAs 

Amazon Australia has signed nine power purchase agreements (PPAs) to add 430 MW of clean energy to the grid across New South Wales and Victoria. The projects will increase Amazon’s total renewable capacity in Australia to nearly 1 GW (990 MW) once operational. The portfolio includes: one wind farm, three utility-scale solar and battery hybrids, four distributed solar-battery projects, and a new battery installation at the Mokoan Solar Farm.

clearvise AG signs wind and solar PPAs in Germany and Ireland

clearvise AG has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for five wind and solar projects across Germany and Ireland. The agreements cover four German solar parks: Klettwitz Nord (90 MW), Alsweiler (10 MW), Lohne (8.6 MW), Triticum (16.8 MW) and the 35 MW Glenough wind farm in Ireland. The PPAs are of 9-12 months and are expected to generate over €0.7 million in additional earnings compared to previous budget projections.
