The UK government has approved the Morgan Generation offshore wind farm, located in the Irish Sea. The project will have a generational capacity of 1,500 MW. It was developed by JERA Nex bp and EnBW. Once operational, the project is expected to supply electricity to about 1.5 million households annually. Germany’s Federal Network Agency has announced the results of the auction held on 1 July 2025 for ground-mounted solar photovoltaic projects and solar installations on constructions other than buildings or noise barriers. The tendered capacity was 2,266 MW, with the auction being oversubscribed and receiving bids totalling 2,820 MW. Out of a total of 313 bids, 258 were awarded, with a combined capacity of 2,271 MW.

Eleven winners have been selected in the recent green hydrogen auction conducted by the Dutch government to give subsidies for electrolysers. These subsidies are expected to reduce the price gap between grey and green hydrogen. The winning bidders, with a combined capacity of 602 MW, have to complete their projects by 2030. Sonnedix has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Renfe for the purchase of 420 GWh of renewable energy per year to power its commercial operations.
