Eurowind Energy to set up five energy centers

In Denmark, Eurowind Energy intends to build five big land based energy facilities. The overall capacity of all the centres will be around 2.5 GW. According to the business, all five projects will include wind turbines, solar PV, batteries, and PtX hydrogen synthesis. In addition, the business intends to focus on integrating biogas and hydrogen refining into the centres.

ADNOC, a UAE-based energy company, announced its acquisition of a 25 per cent share in bp’s blue hydrogen project, H2 Teesside, during the design stage. Masdar, the Abu Dhabi-based renewable energy company, signed a Mou to acquire a stake in bp’s proposed green hydrogen project, HyGreen Teesside. The project will now be advanced by ADNOC’s first investment in the UK, initially to the next level of design, the pre-FEED stage.

Iberdrola plans to invest €3 billion in green hydrogen projects

Iberdrola, a Spanish energy company, has committed to invest €3 billion in green hydrogen as part of its initiatives to speed up the European Green Deal. The European Green Deal, first agreed upon in 2020, aims for a 55 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and for Europe to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. CIP to set up an artificial hydrogen island in Danish North Sea

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a Danish energy investment company, has announced plans to develop an artificial hydrogen island in the Danish North Sea by 2030. The BrintØ hydrogen island will be used primarily for large-scale green hydrogen production from offshore wind. The project will be developed on the Danish part of Dogger Bank in the North Sea and will be connected to a 10 GW offshore wind power project.

Aker Clean Hydrogen, a portfolio company of Aker Horizons, has partnered with Statkraft and SOWITEC to explore opportunities to create green hydrogen and ammonia in India and Brazil. The steel and fertiliser industries in India and Brazil would be the focus of the collaboration. Green hydrogen will be used to replace grey, fossil-fuel-based hydrogen, coal, and natural gas as a fuel and feedstock in the collaboration.

Nel launches MC250 and MC500 containerised large-scale PEM electrolysers

Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser, a subsidiary of Nel ASA has launched the MC250 and MC500 containerised polymer electrolyte membrane electrolysers. The containerised MC250 and MC500 will be delivered as standard 1.25 MW and 2.5 MW (246 and 492 Nm3/h) configurations respectively. The new products are integrating Nel’s newly developed 1.25 MW PEM cell stack, allowing for higher capacities per unit and lower cost.

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group submits proposals for two green hydrogen projects to ARENA

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) with its partners has submitted two proposals to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) for green hydrogen projects in Victoria and Western Australia. These projects were selected by ARENA along with five other projects after expressions of interest in May 2020 as part of the $70 million Renewable Hydrogen Deployment Funding Round.
