WV International to build 900 MW wind farm in Serbia

WV International Ventures, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based WV International, has announced intentions to build a 900 MW wind farm in Serbia’s Novi Sad region. The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina’s provincial government stated that the Samos wind park will be built in the northern Serbian towns of Alibunar and Kovacica, with work expected to be completed in two stages.

Qualitas Energy acquires 96 MW wind project pipeline in Germany

Qualitas Energy, a Spanish renewables investor, has purchased a 96 MW wind energy project pipeline in Germany. Four wind projects are included in the portfolio: two in the Heidekreis district of North Rhine-Westphalia, one in the Uelzen region of Lower Saxony, and one in the Cologne region. The portfolio has the capacity to generate enough electricity to power 64,000 households.

GreenIT, Galileo to build 140 MW of solar PV in Italy

GreenIT, a joint venture between Eni subsidiary Plenitude and CDP Equity, has struck an agreement with Galileo to develop eight solar projects across Italy. The projects, which are spread over three regions in the country’s south, centre, and north, will have a combined capacity of 140 MW. The 2023–2027 Industrial Plan, which GreenIT approved in April 2023, outlines the start of the plants’ operating phase.

Solar steel inks agreement with Naturgy for solar solutions

Solar Steel has disclosed the signing of an agreement with Naturgy to carry out the supply of over 1.1 GW solar solutions in various provinces of Spain. This portfolio of solar projects encompasses a capacity of over 1.1 GW, consisting of 760 MW of TracSmarT+ 1V solar trackers in both single-row and dual-row configurations, as well as 358 MW of RackSmarT fixed structures.

Masdar and Verbund to explore green hydrogen plant in Spain

Masdar, the state-owned renewables developer of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), struck an agreement with Austrian electricity provider Verbund to build a green hydrogen plant in central Spain. As part of the agreement, both companies will assess whether it would be feasible to construct one of the largest green hydrogen production facilities in Europe in the Castilla-La Mancha region of Spain.

Eolus acquires YIT Energy Oy

Iberdrola and Masdar have signed a €15 billion strategic collaboration deal to jointly develop offshore wind and green hydrogen projects in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Following the successful co-investment in Baltic Eagle in Germany, the parties’ next milestone will be to obtain a further co-investment in the 1,400 MW UK East Anglia 3 offshore wind project.

Masdar, Taaleri Energia to buy 1 GW of Polish hybrid renewables project

Masdar and Taaleri Energia have acquired eight hybrid renewable energy projects in Poland.  Onshore wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies are part of the projects. The deal includes a 1 GW portfolio with a total capacity of more than 1 GW.  Masdar’s portfolio in Europe, and specifically in Poland, where it possesses 51.4 MW of wind projects, has been significantly expanded with this acquisition from Polish developer Domrel Biuro Uslug Inwestycyjnych.
