South Korea has awarded five offshore wind projects totaling 1.78 GW in its first-half 2026 offshore wind auction. The auction attracted bids for 3.65 GW across nine projects, and achieved a competition ratio exceeding 2:1. The onshore wind auction awarded approximately 2.5 GW across 270 winning bids from 628 submissions totaling roughly 6.4 GW, significantly oversubscribing the 2.5 GW tender. The Nordex Group has commenced production at its new blade manufacturing facility in Turkey. The facility is expected to produce up to 1,200 rotor blades annually at full capacity. The facility will manufacture rotor blades for the advanced N163 and N175 turbine models designed for medium to strong wind conditions. The project will have a nameplate capacity of 199.5 MW, enough to supply electricity to around 70,000 homes annually.
