Mainstream achieves commercial operations for Ckhúri wind farm in Chile

Mainstream Renewable Power has announced that it has received commercial operations date (COD) certification for the Ckhúri Wind Farm from the National Electricity Coordinator. The project is located in Calama in the Antofagasta Region, Chile. The project has an installed capacity of 109.2 MW and comprises 26 Vestas turbines. Furthermore, the project is expected to supply clean energy sufficient to power approximately 166,000 Chilean homes.

Envision and Menderes join forces for 120 MW wind power project in Turkey 

Envision Energy has partnered with Menderes Tekstil for the Beğendik wind power project. The project, located in Edirne Province, Turkey, has an installed capacity of 120 MW. The project will deploy 15 units of Envision’s EN-182/8.0 MW wind turbines. The project is also expected to generate around 360 million kWh of clean electricity annually. Additionally, the project is expected to offset carbon emissions by approximately 225,000 tonnes on an annual basis.

OCI Energy and Arava Power sign agreement for 670 MWdc Texas solar project  

OCI Energy andArava Power have signed a membership interest purchase agreement (MIPA) for the 670 MWdc La Salle Solar project. The project is located in La Salle County, Texas. Under the agreement, Arava Power will acquire a 50 per cent stake in the project, with both companies jointly financing, constructing, owning, and operating the plant. The agreement marks the third collaboration between the two companies in the Texas renewable energy market.

J&V Energy Technology to acquire 187 MW solar portfolio in Taiwan 

J&V Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement to acquire a portfolio of operational solar plants in Taiwan. The portfolio includes 42 operating solar plants located across Central and Southern Taiwan with a combined capacity of 187 MW. The portfolio will be acquired from a fund managed by BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners. Furthermore, the plants are expected to generate around 270 million kWh of clean electricity annually which is sufficient to power nearly 80,000 households for more than 15 years.

Meta and DESRI sign 850 MW clean power PPAs in US

DESRI and Meta have signed 850 MW of solar and battery storage power purchase agreements (PPAs) in US. The agreement includes 500 MW in Oklahoma, 200 MW in Texas and 150 MW in Mississippi. With these agreements, the total contracted solar and battery storage capacity between the companies has increased to approximately 2,575 MW in US. Previously contracted projects between the companies include 150 MW in Texas, 300 MW in Utah and 100 MW in New Mexico.

Germany awards 2.2 GW of solar capacity 

The Federal Network Agency of Germany has announced the results of its March 1, 2026 solar PV auction which was oversubscribed. The tender covered 2,295 MW of ground-mounted and special-structure solar projects. A total of 532 bids of 4,622 MW capacity were submitted, while 268 bids totaling 2,299 MW secured awards. Additionally, 39 bids were excluded from the auction process.

Rezolv Energy commissions 225 MW solar park in Bulgaria

Rezolv Energy has commissioned the 225 MW St. George solar park in Silistra, Bulgaria. The project represents an investment of $300 million. The project incorporates 400,000 solar panels along with a 90 MW/240 MWh battery energy storage system supported by the EU’s Next GenerationEU programme. Furthermore, the project is expected to generate around 313 GWh of electricity annually for at least 30 years.

Grenergy secures $268 million for solar plus storage project in Chile

Grenergy has secured $268 million in non-recourse financing for the Monte Águila solar plus storage project in Chile. The financing was arranged through an international banking syndicate led by BNP Paribas, alongside KfW IPEX-Bank, Rabobank, Natixis, and Scotiabank. The Monte Águila project also benefits from a 12-year daytime power purchase agreement.

MorGen Energy secures EU grant for green hydrogen project in Denmark

MorGen Energy, a subsidiary of Trafigura, has secured a conditional grant of up to €422.75 million under the European Hydrogen Bank auction funded by the EU Innovation Fund. The grant supports the future operations of the Njordkraft green hydrogen project which is located in Esbjerg, Denmark. The project is expected to produce around 45,500 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually for sectors including steel, refining and energy-intensive manufacturing.

Elements Green acquires 300 MW BESS project in Scotland

Elements Green has acquired the Newarthill battery energy storage system (BESS) project located near Motherwell in Scotland. The project, acquired from Geocore, has a 300 MW storage capacity with a planned two-hour duration and the potential to expand to four hours duration. The project received planning approval in February 2025. The project will connect through an adjacent 275kV substation, with a grid offer secured from NESO under the ongoing grid reform process.

Vena starts construction of 380 MWp solar projects in Philippines

Vena Energy has commenced construction for the 80.6 MWp Astra Solar and 300 MWp Opus Solar projects located in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. These projects together will expand the company’s total solar capacity in Ilocos Norte to approximately 480 MWp. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on 5th May 2026 for the Astra Solar project in Currimao and on 6th May 2026 for the Opus Solar project in Paoay.

Longroad Energy has commenced commercial operations at the Sun Pond project in Arizona. The project comprises 111 MWdc solar and 85 MWac/340 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). GOLDBECK SOLAR is developing the 268 MWp Schafhöfen Solar park in Bavaria, Germany for Blue Elephant Energy GmbH. The project company is BEE Solarpark Schafhöfen GmbH & Co. KG, while GOLDBECK SOLAR will deliver the project under a turnkey EPC contract. Construction for the project is scheduled to commence from May 21, 2026, while commercial operations are targeted for September 2027.

ADB to finance ACWA’s 300 MW wind project in Uzbekistan

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a $116 million financing package with ACWA Power to support the development, construction, operation, and transfer of a 300 MW wind power project in the Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. The financing includes a $50 million loan from ADB’s ordinary capital resources, $41 million from commercial lenders, and $25 million from the ADB’s Leading Asia’s Private Infrastructure Fund 2 (LEAP 2).

Axpo and R.Power sign agreement for 1,200 MWh BESS in Poland

Axpo and R.Power have signed an agreement for the optimisation of a 300 MW/1,200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Dzięgielewo, Poland. The agreement will cover the full scope of optimisation services for the project from the start of commercial operations through the end of 2038. The agreement will commence from the start of commercial operations and remain in effect through the end of 2038.

EDP, through EDP Renewables North America, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Meta for the 250 MW Cypress Knee Solar project in Arkansas. The project is scheduled for completion by 2028. The agreement marks Meta’s third clean energy partnership with EDPR NA, taking the companies’ total contracted renewable energy portfolio to 545 MW in US.

ATOME PLC reaches FID for green fertiliser plant in Paraguay

ATOME PLC has reached a final investment decision (FID) for its 260,000 tonne-per-year low-carbon fertiliser plant in Villeta, Paraguay. The project, powered entirely by renewable baseload hydropower, will produce low-carbon calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) fertiliser independent of fossil-fuel price volatility. The plant construction is expected to begin shortly, with full commercial production targeted by or before October 2029.

AMPIN commissions 500 MW wind-solar hybrid project in India

AMPIN Energy Transition has commissioned approximately 500 MWp of inter-state transmission system-connected wind–solar hybrid capacity at Fatehgarh-IV substation in Rajasthan, India. The project consists of nearly 400 MWp of solar capacity, with about 100 MW of wind capacity to enable round-the-clock renewable energy supply. It is expected to generate approximately 1.25 billion units annually and avoid nearly 1.15 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.

GenusPlus Group Limited has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the 200 MW/800 MWh Koolunga battery energy storage system (BESS) in South Australia (SA). BNZ secures contracts to supply 1,600 GWh of renewable energy in Italy

BNZ has signed agreements to supply 1,600 GWh of renewable energy to major steel and iron companies in Italy. The clean power supplied under the agreement will be equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 600,000 homes and is also expected to offset 528,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. The agreements were signed under Italy’s “Energy Release 2.0” scheme managed by Gestore dei Servizi Energetici.
